Given the shortcomings of current universal approaches to academic evaluation, it was deemed necessary to derive the related principles from Islamic texts through content analysis. From among all such texts, the writings of Ayatollah Javaadi Aamoli were chosen as being a comprehensive representation. The content analysis of these writings resulted in basic humanitarian concepts which were later interfaced with a set of 44 questions designed by 10 experts in curriculum, evaluation, and Islamic humanism, resulting in a set of 57 evaluation principles that was compressed into a smaller set of 14. Three of the most important of these are emphasis on: personal behavior and performance, self-assessment, and inner self. Of these, the first is the most important principle of evaluation as it is inclusive of everything that one does, and also because it includes awareness, will, and interest that cover most cases of evaluation. The internal validity of the derived basic principles was calculated to be adequately significant. Using these concepts and principles could help learners internalize Islamic values.
